Damascus, SANA- Minister of Finance Mohammad Yusr Barniyeh has announced that the Damascus Securities Exchange will officially reopen on Monday, June 2, following the completion of necessary reviews and procedures.
In a statement to SANA, Minister Barniyeh confirmed that all required measures have been implemented to ensure compliance with regulations aimed at preventing money laundering and illicit activities in the market. He noted that trading will initially be limited to three days per week.
The minister emphasized that reopening the exchange is intended to stimulate the economy and revive financial transactions.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to implement a comprehensive development plan for the securities sector in Syria, which includes enhancing trading systems, clearing, electronic settlement, digital services, and expanding investment instruments, along with initiatives to promote financial awareness.
