A traditional folk market opens in Sweida province

Swieda, SANA- Oriental Crafts Association in Sweida opened Sunday the first traditional folk market, under the supervision of the governorate’s General Union of Craftsmen.

The one-day market, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. includes heritage crafts, oriental cuisine, traditional costumes, and various handicrafts.

Secretary of Oriental Crafts Association in Sweida, Jinan Kamal al-Din, told SANA that the market will be held on a specific day of each month, aiming at promoting traditional and craft works, encouraging craftsmen to continue their work, and helping small business owners promote and market their works.

A number of participants and coordinators noted to several projects that offer a variety of high-quality products, underscoring the importance of the market for exchanging expertise between craftsmen.
