Beirut, SANA- Lebanese media said that ceasefire between Lebanon and Israeli entity has taken effect Wednesday at dawn, after 66 days of the aggression that left thousands of civilian martyrs and injuries, in addition to the massive destruction of property and infrastructure.
“A big number of Lebanese citizens began returning their houses in the south after being displaced due to Israeli aggression”, al-Manar Channel reported, while Lebanese Army Command issued a statement saying “the army is working to take necessary measures to ensure the return of the displaced in accordance with Lebanese government’s mandate and in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The statement added ” the army command calls on citizens to wait before returning to the villages and towns that were under the Israeli enemy’s control, stressing the importance of adhering to the military units’ directives to preserve their safety, calling on the citizens returning to all areas to beware of unexploded objects.
Hours before the ceasefire, the Israeli enemy carried out a series of violent raids targeting several areas in the capital Beirut, the southern suburbs, and villages in the south and Bekaa.
The death toll from the massacres committed by Israeli enemy has reached to 3,823 martyrs and 15,859 wounded, according to the latest statistics issued by Lebanese Health Ministry.
In a response to the Israeli raids, Lebanese resistance carried out several operations targeting the enemy’s sites, bases and settlements in the north of occupied Palestine.
The ceasefire was announced Tuesday night, as Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, called on Israeli enemy to fully abide by the ceasefire agreement.
While US President, Joe Biden, and French President, Emmanuel Macron, announced in a joint statement that a ceasefire agreement has taken in Lebanon.
