injuries and destruction due to wildfires in France and Spain
SANA NEWS -

Capitals, SANA-At least nine people were injured as wildfires that broke out in the Aude region in southern France Tuesday, consuming large areas of land.

French media reported that the fires, which have so far consumed 800 hectares of land, are continuing to spread rapidly, amid warnings that they could reach the A9 motorway linking France and Spain.

French authorities closed the road between Perpignan and Narbonne cities, and evacuated two campsites in the tourist town of La Palme, home to approximately 500 visitors, as a precaution.

Meanwhile, as a severe heat wave continues across Europe, Spanish authorities evacuated hundreds of visitors from hotels and campsites in the south of the country following a forest fire that closed 9 km of the main coastal road.

Across the Atlantic, dozens of forest fires broke out in Canada, forcing thousands of people to evacuate their homes.
