New York, SANA-United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that the situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic, with more people being killed and injured on a Daily basis.
UN News Centre quoted Deputy Spokesman for UN Secretary-General, Farhan Haq as saying “Hospitals worked beyond its capacity, and patients are lying on the ground or in the streets, in light of the lack of beds and medical supplies”, noting that Israeli forces prevented Wednesday medical emergency teams from entering the strip.
Haq said: “There is an urgent need for regular entry of humanitarian aid and commercial goods on a large scale, stressing that starvation continues to spread across Gaza Strip”, noting that over the 24 past hours 5 people died in the Strip due to malnutrition, bringing the total number to nearly 200.
He went on saying that the Strip is suffering from a fuel shortage, threatening to close hospitals, bakeries, water and sewage systems, ambulances and other aspects of life.
