Nine countries reject Israel’s decision to farther escalate its Military Offensive in Gaza
SANA NEWS -

London, SANA-The Foreign ministries of nine countries declared their strong rejection of  Israeli decision to lunch wide-scale military operation against Gaza strip and reoccupy it.

This came in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the European Union High Representative, published on the official website of the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The statement indicated that this military operation would exacerbate the catastrophic humanitarian situation, endanger the lives of hostages, and increase the risk of mass displacement of civilians in the Gaza Strip. It called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the facilitation of unimpeded humanitarian access.

The Israeli Security Cabinet announced plans to launch a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip to reassert control over it, including the possibility of reoccupying it, at a time when the Strip is suffering from a prolonged blockade and a worsening humanitarian crisis.

These Israeli intentions were met with widespread rejection by the United Nations and a large number of countries and international organizations, which warned that any large-scale military operation or new occupation of Gaza would constitute a violation of international humanitarian law and increase the suffering of civilians.
