International Condemnations of Israeli Occupation’s Decision to Seize Gaza and Warnings of Humanitarian Catastrophe
SANA NEWS -

New York, SANA-The UN Security Council held an emergency session on Sunday to discuss the repercussions of the Israeli occupation’s decision to seize Gaza City.

The session witnessed widespread international condemnations and warnings of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe, which could involve further killings, displacement, and famine.

Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Riyad Mansour, stated during the session that the Israeli occupation has shown disregard for the fate of hostages, does not abide by international law or UN resolutions, and aims to destroy the Palestinian people to facilitate the annexation of their land.

Mansour called on the Security Council to act under Chapter VII of the UN Charter to deprive Israel of the means to continue this brutal war, hold it accountable for its crimes, and immediately deploy an international protection force to save the Palestinian people from certain death.

He explained that an international plan adopted by the high-level international conference on Palestine begins with ending the use of starvation as a weapon of war, ending the war on Gaza, increasing humanitarian aid, and ensuring Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
