China activates Level-IV emergency response for flood control in Sichuan Province

Beijing, SANA- China’s State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a Level-IV flood control emergency response for Sichuan Province on Sunday.

The move follows forecasts from meteorological authorities predicting moderate to heavy rainfall, with some areas receiving heavy to torrential rains, across the Sichuan Basin from Sunday through Tuesday.

on Sunday, China’s national observatory renewed a yellow alert for rainstorms, saying that heavy rain are anticipated from Sunday morning to Monday morning across broad regions

China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue. The emergency response system has four tiers, with Level I being the most severe.
