Paris/London-SANA -French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has warned that expanding Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip would lead to a catastrophic outcome and an unending war.

In a post on the platform X, Barrot stated: “Israeli escalation in Gaza will increase Palestinian casualties and endanger the lives of hostages.” He called for a permanent ceasefire, the release of detainees, the protection of civilians, and the opening of humanitarian corridors.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom expressed deep concern over Israel’s repeated targeting of Palestinian journalists in Gaza, following the killing of six journalists, including five from al Jazeera’s news crew.

A spokesperson for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a press briefing: “We are deeply concerned about the repeated targeting of journalists in Gaza. Journalists must be able to report independently and without fear.” He emphasized that reporters covering conflicts are protected under international humanitarian law.
