UNRWA Commissioner: No one should stay silent when children die in Gaza
SANA NEWS -

New York, SANA- Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini announced Wednesday that 100 children have died in Gaza due to malnutrition and hunger, as a result of the stifling Israeli siege imposed on the Strip.

Lazzarini said on his X account “There are reports that more than 40,000 Palestinian children have been killed or injured in Israeli bombing and airstrikes, at least 17,000 children have been separated from their families, and a million children are traumatized and out of school”.

“No one should stay silent when children die, or are brutally deprived of a future, wherever these children are, including in Gaza” he added.

In turn, UNRWA said in a statement that hundreds of people have been killed since the establishment of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” while desperately searching for food.

The agency stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire to allow safe, regular, and widespread access to aid to the people, and to allow the United Nations, including UNRWA, to carry out its life-saving work.
